Rapper Badshah recently sent the Internet into a frenzy with a post about Dua Lipa, sparking backlash. It all began when he shared the singer’s name, followed by a red heart emoji on X. Within moments, fans flooded social media with speculation, with many assuming that a collaboration between Badshah and Dua Lipa was in the works.
When a user asked, “Are you making a track with her bro?” the rapper refuted the claims, saying, “I’d rather make babies with her bro.” The now-deleted post quickly gained traction and was strongly criticised by social media users.
Following the backlash, Badshah reacted to it, further clarifying his remarks as a compliment. “I think one of the most beautiful compliments that you could give to a woman that you really admire is to wish for her to mother your children. Meri soch nahi tumhari soch saamne aayi hai” (Your thoughts, not mine, have came forward), he wrote.

With over a million views, Badshah’s reaction did not sit well with a section of users, who criticised him further. “Since when did “rather make babies” started translating into ‘I want her to be mother of my kids’???” a user wrote. “Would you call it a compliment if someone admires the ladies of your house by telling them the same thing? Understand the concept of respect, consent and the difference between being a chhicchora and the love of someone’s life,” another user commented.
“Reducing a successful woman to a womb for your fantasy is entitlement disguised as flattery, not admiration,” a third user reacted.
In an interview in 2024, Badshah had opened up about his failed marriage and daughter. The rapper revealed that things turned “very messy” between them toward the end of their relationship, largely due to cultural differences. He also opened up about their daughter, Jessemy, and the emotional toll the situation took on him. It was during this challenging period that he experienced his first panic attack, which prompted him to seek professional help.
